Elegance is a synonym for neo-classical style. Twentieth century neo-classicism dates back to 17th and 18th century neo-classicism, with its references to antique Greek and Roman styles. Contemporary use of classical motives consists of austere antique forms as well as more pompous and intricate forms inherent in empire and rococo.
